A Growing History
Glenwood Farms started as a dairy farm in 1902 and ran until 1949. After the death of Julien Johnson the farm was split between 5 siblings. The only member of the family to maintain the farm was Norman Johnson. Norman and his wife Marie continued to raise black Angus beef cattle until the mid 70's. The property was than split between their 4 children, Gladys, Norma, Richard & Julie.
2 of the plots still remain in the family today.
David Armstrong purchased his plot of land in 1996 with his wife Peggy. Shorty after purchasing the property David began to plant Christmas trees. In 1997 we began selling trees to family and friends and in 1998 Glenwood Tree Farms was established. Along with their 3 children Jessica, Erich and Chelsey and numerous other family members the tree farm has operated for the last 10 years.
In 2013 an Armstrong cousin Ryan asked to hold his wedding at the tree farm. After a beautiful fall wedding we decided to continue with weddings and have now had the privilege to share in many couples special day!

Our beautiful farm began as a seasonal location for local families to purchase their prized Christmas trees. Over the years the farm has become more than just a winter event, but a place for memories to be made year round, in every season.
